Heading south from Puerto Viejo is a real treat. The road crosses little rivulets, many palm trees and strips of jungle which are marketed vigorously by the locals with huge “se vende” signs. When you reach “Punta Uva”, you think that it cannot get any better than this, however, you are mistaken as the reserve of Gandoca-Manzanillo south of Manzanillo gives you an even better “Barcadi feeling” with its small and pretty shores nestled in between rocks and dense jungle.

The wildlife in the jungle is just as captivating. You can find all kinds of mammals, insects and sea fauna you can think of. If you’re lucky you might even spot manatees. So my advice to the Bacardi marketing team: go to Manzanillo for your next ad shoot!
